Randall Eugene Tatum, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 6:43 p.m. at his home in Calhoun, TN from a nearly four year battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends when he peacefully left his beloved home and family to be with our Lord in heaven. Randall was born on December 29, 1954 in Cleveland TN to the late Bruce Edward Tatum and Beatrice Jordan Tatum. He was educated in Bradley County Schools and lived in Cleveland until h1979 when he was joined in marriage to Norma Jean Womac of Calhoun. Randall lived in Calhoun for the rest of his life.
As a young man Randall worked several jobs in the Cleveland area before finding a home at the City of Cleveland. He worked at Waterville Golf Course then later at the parks and recreation department. Randall retired from the city of Cleveland December 30, 2015. His favorite pastimes were riding his Harley Davidson with his wife and friends and swinging on his front porch swing. Randall will be missed by his family and friends and by the community of Calhoun that he loved so much.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Tatum and James Tatum; sister, Arwana Johnson and her husband, Jim; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Milan and Jim Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Womac Tatum of Calhoun; brother, Roy and wife, Gwen of Cleveland; sisters, Georgia Milan and Brenda Silvers and husband, Terry, all of Old Fort and Charlotte Casteel and husband, Jimmy of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Diane Reno and husband, Danny of Riceville, Sandra Fansler of Cleveland and Carolyn Tatum and Angela Tatum, both of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Aaron Womac and wife, Ashley of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Randall’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home in Cleveland with the Reverend Roy Tatum officiating.
His family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
