Leopoldo (Polo) L. Villarreal, 95, died Saturday, June 19, 2021, at his home in Cleveland. Polo was born on July 23, 1925 in Hebbronville, Texas to the late Jose Angel and Liboria Villareal. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Philippines, afterward working in the Texas oilfields until his retirement at age 58. Polo was a faithful member of Central Church of Christ and an avid outdoorsman who deeply enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Garza.
Polo is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Jane Lorraine Villarreal; one daughter, Connie "Troy" Blevins; one nephew, Jose Luis "Deena" Garza; one granddaughter, Teena "Matt" Gandy; two great nieces; three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Central Church of Christ on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, officiated by Tom Harrison, Dale Hester and Ted Gobble, the interment followed at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
Dale Hester, Dale Jones, Eugene McCracken, Jim Lupo, Johnny Triplett served as Pallbearers. Troy Blevins, Tom Butler, Kevin Garner, Mike Keith, Keith Welder, Danny Coggins served as Honorary Pallbearers.
