Eladia Feliciano Cordero

December 9, 1940 — March 19, 2022

This obituary is for mother, Eladia Feliciano Cordero. She was also known by, Gigi, Layita, or Negra. A touching example of how to celebrate a rich and full life.

Gigi, 81, of Cleveland went to her Eternal Home Saturday, March 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico December 9, 1940 to the late Leopoldo Feliciano Guzman and Candita Cordero Feliciano. She enjoyed sewing as her hands were rarely still, in fact she worked as a seamstress. Cooking was also a passion of hers.

Gigi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan E. Garcia;  four sisters, Ramonita Cardona, Gregoria Burgos, Ana Gloria Velez; Cruz Maria Feliciano; one grandson, Adam Micheal Salgado.

Remaining to cherish in her memory are daughters, Ivette M McCollum, Joanne Astarita (John), Patricia Valentin (Sergio), Susan Jane Crespo, Cynthia Ann Asik (Gary), Diana Luz Resto (Jayson), Nancy Marisol Garcia (Ray); step-son, Jay Francis Garcia; two sisters, Iris Fernandez, Nereida Feliciano; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and as for great-great-grandchildren there are two, plus, one on the way!

She was known to be the strongest woman some have ever met, and the fiercest mom, who is leaving behind an amazing legacy for generations.
