Bonnie Brannen

March 16, 1921 — January 29, 2023

Bonnie J Brannen, 101, of Cleveland, TN went home to be with her Lord, joining her husband, three sons and parents on January 29, 2023. Just as 2 Timothy 4:7-8 says, [She has] fought the good fight, [she has] finished the race, [she has] kept the faith. Now there is in store for [her] the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to [her] me on that day—and not only to [her], but also to all who have longed for his appearing (NIV). She moved to Tennessee in the year 1990 with her late husband Rev. Louis Alton Brannen after they retired from years of ministry and pastoring churches in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana. In addition to serving alongside her husband as pastor in their churches, she became a powerful evangelist who often preached revivals, state camp meetings, and youth camps in her early days. She traveled to many different countries which included South America, Africa, Mexico and Honduras and preached the gospel. Bonnie lived a very long and fulfilled life and was admired and loved by so many. She loved to tell the story of Jesus. She is preceded in death by her sons, Fred Alton Brannen, Lowell Archie Brannen and Wilmon Edward “Wil” Brannen; sisters, Corene Jones Baker, Donnie Delle Jones (her twin sister who died at birth); brother, Thomas Joshua Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Bonita Landrum (Mike) and Donice Brown (Raymond) of Cleveland TN; daughters in law, Frances Brannen, Janis Brannen and Melody Brannen; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City. In lieu of flowers you may send a donation to Church of God World Missions at https://www.cogwm.org/ discipleship center. Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
