Betty R. McLyea

Betty Rae McLyea, 70, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on September 20, 2020. She was born to parents Herbert Curtis Pruett and Mary Jane Pruett, on March 3, 1950 in Bluefield, WV.

She graduated from Bluefield High School in 1968.
She enjoyed bingo, bowling, shopping, watching old Westerns, and spending time with family. She loved to sit outside by her flower garden.

Betty is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Pruett of Bluefield, WV. Her brothers Curt (Carol) Pruett of Bennett, CO and Jeff Pruett of Clovis, NM. Her son Stephen Hicks and daughter Sarah (Lewis) Burton, both of Knoxville, TN. Her stepdaughter, Angela McLyea of Myrtle Beach, SC and stepson, Brian McLyea of Boiling Springs, SC. Her grandchildren Samantha Brooks, Edward Burton, Chelsea (Dalton) Egnor, Christian (Lucinda) Hicks and Ashley (Eddie) Croy; Great-grandchildren Braydon, Alexis, and Emory. And many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry McLyea and her father Herbert Pruett.

Services will be held in Bluefield, WV at a later date.
