Ardella Darlene Evans

January 31, 1952 — February 6, 2022

Ardella Darlene Johnson Evans, 70, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

Ardella was born on January 31, 1952, to Darlene and Albert Johnson. Her and her siblings Albert, Pamela, and Catherine were raised in North Pekin, Illinois. In 1971, she graduated from Pekin Community High School. She met and later married the love of her life, Charles “Bud” Leroy Evans, while working at her first restaurant job. They shared a love for cooking, and one daughter together, Jessica Nichole. In 1990, her husband passed away from a sudden heart attack. She later moved to Chattanooga, TN in 2007 to live with her sister, Cathy. She loved spending time with her kids Jessica and Javier Segovia, and her grandkids Jasmine, Javier “Bubba”, and Cathy’s granddaughter Haley. She also loved spoiling her poodle Minnie Pearl and playing on her computer.

She had a personality twice her size and loved with her whole heart. She will always be remembered for her sarcastic ways and always bringing laughter wherever she went. Her love will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Pamela “Pam” Simpson.

She is survived by her older brother Albert Johnson (Sue) of Dallas, GA; younger sister Catherine “Cathy” Stark of Ooltewah, TN; daughter Jessica Segovia (Javier) of Collegedale, TN; and two grandchildren Jasmine Segovia and Javier “Bubba” Segovia.

There will be a private family memorial in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Chattanooga in her honor.
