Imogene Brock Thompson Rowland Brunk, age 78 of Benton, passed away Thursday morning, November 12, 2015, at her residence. Born on June 6, 1937 in McMinn County, she lived in Polk County the past 40 years. She was a self employed hairdresser working from her home and also at Etowah Healthcare. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in East Etowah and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Imogene was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Brock; first husband, Thomas Rowland; and brother, Clarence McCallister. She is survived by her husband, Garry A. Brunk of Benton; Mother, Florence Duckett; daughters, Trina Jackson and husband Joey of Etowah and Tara Guider and husband Larry of Etowah; grandchildren, Nathan Cobb, Christian Rowland, and Levi Guider; great-grandchildren, Selton Cobb and Gabria Hubbard; sisters, Wanda Cooley and husband E.W. of Etowah, Joyce Reese of Etowah, Mary Clayton and husband Laddie of Benton, and Margaret Bates and husband Ralph of Benton. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive. A celebration of Life and Home going for Imogene Brunk will be held at 3p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Jeff Blanchette officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
