Rickey D. Carpenter

Rickey D. Carpenter, age 57, of Etowah, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at his residence after battling cancer for a year. He was employed with Gilded Mirrors for 18 years and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl “Red” Carpenter and brother Larry Carpenter.

He is survived by his loving mother, Helen Garrett Carpenter of Etowah; daughter, Tabatha Shelton of Etowah, great niece, Kayleigh Hafley of Etowah; sister, Lisa Moses and husband Dewayne of Madisonville; and brothers, Gary Carpenter of Etowah and Terry Carpenter of Athens. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Chestua Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Jim Price officiating.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
