Richard John Riepe

July 28, 1939 — March 26, 2016

A long time resident of Etowah, TN and avid fan of the TN Lady Vols, Richard, was preceded in death by his father, John Riepe and Mother, Pauline Riepe, and brother, Ken Riepe, all of Perham, MN.

He was a star athlete in Perham, MN where he was born and at the University of North Dakota from which he graduated with a BA in business and accounting. After serving in the United States Army, with great pride, he was employed by Arizona Sunshine Ranches in Tucson and Grand View Lodge and Camp Lincoln in Nisswa, MN, owned by the Cote/Thorpe families, as the head accountant/controller. During this time, he met and married his sweetheart, Patricia Ann Harris, Etowah. And while they divorced in 2000, they remained best friends until Richard passed away suddenly sitting in his favorite chair in the home of Patricia in Etowah.

Patricia and Richard were owners of a successful flower business, several real estate firms, as Broker/Owners, and Richard also was a valued employee of Weyerhaeuser in Cleveland, TN where he was awarded a magnificent clock for never missing a day of work. His brothers, Art, Jim, Bob, Donnie, Joe, and sisters, Karen and Marilyn sadly wish him an adieu to the vast forever. He will be missed by friends, acquaintances, and the Piggly Wiggly store where he enjoyed shopping.

There will be a private Memoral Service at a later date.

Thank you Serenity Funeral Home for your kindness, consideration, and professionalism. And much gratitude to Etowah Fire Department and Emergency Rescue for your help during Richard's time of need.

Visit the Riepe family guestbook and leave a message of comfort.
