George Arthur Lasher, Sr.

George Arthur Lasher, Sr, age 70 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, May21, 2016 at a Knoxville Hospital. He was a native of Kingston, TN, a Veteran of the United States Navy and had lived in McMinn County since 1974. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking and fishing whenever possible. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Pauline Rowland Lasher.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Easter Lasher of Athens; one son, George A. (Christy)Lasher, Jr. of Riceville; two daughters, Haley (Jose) Gallegos of Athens, and Brandi Stiles of Athens. There are two brothers surviving, James (Doris) Lasher of Kingston, and Robert (Frances) Lasher of Kingston; eight grandchildren, Amaris Lasher, DaKendall Lasher, Cecilia Gallegos, Juan Gallegos, Heather Topa, Joseph Gray, Kayla Clemons, Amanda Lasher; and one great grandchild, Kaybryn Topa.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from the chapel of the Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with Brother Larry Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
