Verlin Beecher Gravley

 Verlin B. Gravley, age 88, of Grapevine Texas formerly of Etowah, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2016 at a Texas Healthcare facility. Born on July 8, 1928 to the late Raymond Clyde and Daisy Lucille Wood Gravley, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  Mr. Gravley was a well known business man in Etowah with a majority of his career being spent in the car business. He was an avid golfer and Tennessee Vols fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a member of First Christian Church of Etowah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Gravley and Marc Anthony Gravley; sisters, Juanita Pickel and Susie Hayes; brothers, Hildman Gravley , George Gravley , and Robert Gravley.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Heckert of Grapevine, Texas, Chris Gravley of Grapevine, Texas, and Katherine Verline Cox and husband Harold of Spring Hill, TN; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gravley of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Matt Gravley, Adam Gravley, Eric Gravley, Halli Gravley, Seth Heckert, Ryan Heckert, and Luke Cox; and a sister, Maleia Taylor of Clinton, TN.  Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Louis Rouse officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with a White Dove Release Ceremony concluding the services.

 The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the funeral home.
