Sharon Kay Pavey-King

                        Sharon “ Shari” Pavey-King

The Lord received an angel on Friday, January 27, 2017. Sharon Pavey –King passed away at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens. She was 75 years old.

 Shari was born in Columbus, Indiana in March 4, 1941 to Catherine Pavey. She was actually born in her grandmother’s house. She came in the world struggling and she left the world struggling. She has battled heart disease and diabetes for over twenty years. Finally she is out of pain and suffering and resting peacefully. She lived in Columbus, Indiana for about 25 years. After that, she has explored many other states in our country. She has touched and influenced many lives everywhere she was.

 She met her husband Dennis in Florida and have been together for 27 years. They have resided in Athens for the past 16 years. One of her favorite pastimes was singing in the church choir. Dennis and Shari attended Allen Memorial Methodist Church. She loved the lord and felt closer to GOD when she was singing. Now she is singing with the angels for him.   She absolutely loved to crochet, which she learned at the age of 6. She has made many beautiful items throughout her life. She won Best in Show and Overall winner at the County Fair for several years with her doll outfits. She also taught many women how to crochet at the Senior Center in Athens. She was known as the “Crochet Lady” for 7 years.

 She leaves behind her husband, Dennis King and 3 children; Ronald Colvin, Victoria Bandy, and Jennifer Meece. She has 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great- great- grandchildren. Shari has a brother and two sisters remaining. She will be welcomed by her parents and two brothers. She left behind her small dog and baby of 4 years old, Abbey that always brightened her day. This entire family loved her deeply.

 A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
