Hazel Christine Derrick

Hazel Christine Daugherty Derrick, age 84, of Englewood, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at a local hospital.  A native & lifelong resident of McMinn County, she is the daughter of the late Carl and Maude Morgan Daugherty and is of the Christian faith.  Hazel loved cooking, going to the mountains, spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Leonard Derrick of Englewood; five children, David Derrick of Englewood, Linda Tomlin (Gary) of Englewood, Mary Begley of Athens, Teresa Snyder (Billy) of Englewood, and Mark Derrick (Donna) of Madisonville; 13 grandchildren, Shannon Rule, Sherry Denton, Heather McDaniel, Jamie Snyder, Casey Masingale, Dustin Aderhold, Kimberly Culberson, Heath Derrick, Zachary Tomlin, Matthew Derrick, Micah Begley, Drake Derrick and Dana Davis; nineteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Margie Bowers of Englewood, Faye Kincaid (Joe Ben) of Etowah, Joyce Crisp (Chris) of Knoxville, and Sandra Blankenship (Rex) of Maryville; one brother, Darrell Daugherty of Atlanta.  Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood with Brother M.J. “Buddy” Strickland officiating, followed by  a white dove release.

There will be no formal visitation.
