Raphael Charles Santagata

Raphael (Ray) Santagata, age 92, of Etowah, TN., formerly of Knoxville, TN., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.  He was born in New York City, was a WWII Veteran,  a member of the Army Air Corp having fought in the battle of Iwo Jima,  and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mr. Santagata is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Victoria.

Survivors include his son Randy Santagata of Knoxville; step-daughter Lola Preston;  step-son Matthew Peck, both of North Carolina; brother John Santagata of New York; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 30, 2017, beginning at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel in Etowah.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
