Reverend Gail Scoggins

Reverend Gail N. Scoggins, age 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in a Knoxville health care facility. Born November 13, 1938 to the late Clarence and Roseanna Goins Scoggins, he enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He most recently was employed as a security officer for Peyton’s Southeastern. He has pastored several area Baptist Churches over the years, most recently Oak Grove Baptist Church.

n addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Jr., Claude, Donald, Carl “Jack”, Dennis and Bobby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juanita Trentham Scoggins; son, Terry Scoggins and wife, Carolyn of Farragut; daughter, Traci Queener and husband, Robert of Clinton; beloved grandchildren, Chelsea Scoggins, Connor Scoggins, Wesley Queener, and Jordan Queener; sisters, Wanda Cavitt of Chattanooga and Barbara Knight and husband, H.L. of Cleveland. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Rev. Scoggins will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, from the chapel of Grissom- Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sears and Eddie Scoggins officiating.

The family will have a private graveside service at the J.W. Tripplett Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
