Joseph Grigsby

February 2, 1925 — July 22, 2016

 

Joseph L. “Pop” Grigsby 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, in his family home.

 He retired early from the TNT plant in Chattanooga, so he and Mom could travel with the Holiday Motor Coach Club all over the U.S. and Canada, finally making their winter home in Polk City, Florida. He and mom were charter members of Westmore Church of God.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He has joined our mother, Dorothy Mullinax Grigsby, MiMi as she was called by her grandchildren. He is also joining his parents, Clarence and Katherine, his sister, Dorothy Thomas and his first grandson, Ryan Heath Lenderman, his best buddy.

Dad is survived by three loving children and grandchildren, Debi Lenderman and her husband Doug and their son, Todd Lenderman and his wife, Heather and great grandson, Parker, son Gregory Grigsby and his wife, Connie and their children, Kaitlin Grigsby and Erica Sherrill and her husband, Matt and great-granddaughter, Lily, son, Jeffrey Grigsby and his wife, Angela and their children, Ashley Grigsby, Heath Grigsby, and a great-granddaughter, Madison Grigsby; three sisters-in-law, Virginia, Janet, and Geneva Mullinax; brother in law Allen Williams, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wendell Smith of Westmore Church of God officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the funeral home.
