Margaret Jane Nye

Margaret Jane Nye, age 88, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at a local healthcare facility. She loved to paint and spend time researching genealogy. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nye and her parents, Henry Victor Profitt and Emma Allene Proffitt; two sister and four brothers.

She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Nye and wife Judy of Charleston, TN and Keith Nye and wife Rita of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Victoria (Tori) Nye, Kathryne (Katy) Nye, Jackson Tyler Nye, Brandon Kilby, and Zachary Kilby; one brother, Ned Proffitt; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Rouse officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Niota Cemetery in Niota, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Margaret’s name to Wesley United Methodist Church Missions Fund.
